Jefferson Patterson Park and Museum - Childrens Discovery Room

Entrance for Parents
Note the back packs are for the children to borrow from the office. They contain specific activities to use in exploring the wonderful network of trails just outside the door.

The room will be open every day of the week until Thanksgiving.
Then it will open back up in March.

Check the Jefferson Patterson Park and Museum for daily hours
and special events.

All the fun things to do at the hearth, the pot hook swings out and in

View toward the authentic eastern woodland lodge built by Barry Keegan and Tim Thoman. The mural and the bricks and the tree areas were painted by Suzanne Shelden and Deborah McClure and portrays the branches and leaves of many common native trees. On the branches and in the brush, children will spy many birds and animals, including a deer and a fawn.

Inside the lodge the mural continues, expanding the view within. Inside find gourds and other fun items from the village.

This is the tree with the bird ID game. The birds in the canopy are original paintings by Megan Richard. Each Bird has it's own, labeled nest and the eggs are specific to each bird.
