Suzanne Shelden has been painting on commission professionally since the early 80's. Her work includes animal portraits, architecture, portraiture, personal objects, and landscapes and architecture, such as homes and barns, as well as murals.
Your commission process involves the following:
*Photos are taken at your home, barn or show, or provided by you with valid permissions from photographers.
*Compositions are shared via email, or mail, or in person, for your approval.
*Quotes in advance. $1/2 non refundable deposit with tax prior to beginning of work, $1/2 on completion.
*Commission pricing is based on a scale of about $3.00 per square inch. This is higher than my original art, because it takes into consideration time other than creating the painting, such as working with the client.
sample pricing:
9x12 = $324
12x16 = $576
16x20 = $960
18x24 = $1,296
24x36 = $2,592
*Painting generally takes about a month to complete with online viewing to see the painting before it comes out of the studio, timeline depends upon ready access to subject and cooperation of owner/commissioner in the proofing process.
*Paintings completed within a week or for special deadline driven events are subject to 100% in advance, plus 50% rush fee, and will need ready access to subject and cooperation of owner/commissioner in the proofing process.
*After final approval of artwork, framing is available
*Hand delivery and hanging to within 2 hours of the DC Metro area
*Shipping and insurance extra to other areas
